Solid Waste Rates
Residential and Commercial Billing Rates
Fuel Surcharge - The City of Sedro-Woolley believes in providing the highest quality waste hauling and disposal services to its customers. Our costs are constantly monitored to provide you with the best possible value at the most reasonable rates. The recent increases in fuel prices, however, have made it much more difficult to manage these costs. They have not only impacted ongoing waste hauling and disposal services, but also significantly increased costs for many of the petroleum-based products we use in our daily operations (tires, waste receptacles, recycling bins, truck parts, etc.).
To counter the effects of these increased fuel prices, we have implemented a fuel surcharge, which is identified as a single line item on your invoice. The fuel surcharge includes both direct and indirect costs associated with the collection and transfer of waste. The fuel surcharge is related directly to the cost we pay for diesel and it's tied closely with the index below. This index is available to the public and is widely recognized in trucking and transportation industries. Please click on the link for additional information.

The City will continue to monitor its fuel surcharge monthly and if the price per gallon gets to or goes below $2.00 per gallon, the fuel surcharge will be removed at that time.
We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you and the community. If you have any questions, please contact us.
